Our fabrics are sold in Fat quarters ( taken from one metre of fabric, cut in half lengthwise, and then in half width-wise).  If you order more than one fat quarter (in multiples of 2) of the same fabric, your order will be despatched in one length ie 2 fat quarters = 1/2 metre; 4 fat quarters = 1 metre.

Except where specifically stated, prices are for delivery to mainland UK only. We welcome enquiries from elsewhere, but ask that in these cases you contact us by Email, letter or telephone for onward shipping costs to other locations.

Our deliveries to the UK mainland are sent by Royal Mail postal service.  Larger orders may be sent 'signed for'.

FREE delivery is available on all UK orders over £25.00 made in one purchase.

All goods are examined in detail by ourselves prior to despatch to ensure that they leave our warehouse in perfect condition. However, transit damage unfortunately can occur. If your purchase is showing obvious signs of transit damage upon delivery, please refuse to accept delivery and notify us immediately. If damage is only evident upon opening of packaging, then you must inform us within 48 hours of receipt. In either case, we will then arrange re-delivery of replacement goods as soon as possible.

EU customers:  As a small business we have decided to operate a DDU (Delivery Duties Unpaid) option in relation to VAT, Customs and Import Taxes.  We will not ask our customers for tax and duty at checkout.  EU recipients will be contacted in their own country and will pay VAT and duties owed before receiving item.

Customs and import taxes

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.

All prices are in £ sterling and inclusive of VAT.  Any exceptions will be clearly marked on the website where relevant. Prices may be subject to change without notice, but we will only alter the price after we have confirmed your order, if is to your benefit.

We are pleased to offer a fair and equitable cancellation policy, which is in addition to your statutory rights.

Whilst every effort will be made to accept the cancellation this can only happen if cancellation is made prior to any cutting of fabric. If cutting or production has begun then a 50% deposit will be kept.

Cancellations should be made in writing.

Returns cannot be accepted unless by prior agreement.

Should your purchase disappoint in any way, you may normally cancel your purchase provided you notify us before, or within 14 days after delivery.

Your product must be complete, unused and in 'as new' condition (e.g., if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product in any way). It should be returned at your cost with the original box, packing and accessories.

All faults or damages must be reported within 7 days of receipt of delivery
Please note that fabric orders that have been 'cut to order' are non-refundable.

Unauthorised returns will not be credited to the customer's account.

What is a Fat Quarter?

Fat quarters are pre-cut pieces of cotton fabric.  Traditionally taken from one yard of fabric, cut in half lengthwise, and then in half width-wise.  The dimensions are approximately 18" x 22" (46cm x 56cm).
A normal quarter yard cut from a bolt would measure 44" x 9" (112cm x 23cm).
The squarer shape of the fat quarter rendered it more useful and open to a number of sew and piecing alternatives.
